Thusday 30th March

Best sleep yet!   In bed by about 9:45pm, woke up a couple of times during the night, including for the roosters, but no bugs, no crabs, and no specific reason to get up early.   Out of bed at 8am.   Still the last one out of bed though.   Today we had no plans, so this will probably be a short post.   Rory and Elle were in the pool ASAP as expected.   Rory’s legs are so brown it’s nuts. Already browner than my arms by far.   We have a rule in place now – out of the pool before 11am and no getting back in until afternoon tea is complete. Lunch was burger sliders, pretty good.   Some had hot sauce on them of course.   Easy to avoid though.   Rory and Elle discovered the main kitchen today, and spent a lot of time there.   From what we can tell Romina has given them a bunch of tasks and they are taking their roles very seriously.   I have to set alarms on my watch for when they need to get back to the kitchen to do the next...

Last night I had a better sleep thanks to the pillow.   Also there were no bugs that I noticed, however at about 4am we awoke to a clitter clatter and felt something funny on my leg.   Turned the light and and somehow there was a crab in the bed, probably 20cm wide including legs.   It tried to go under the covers but I lifted them up and it jumped off the bed.   Good enough for me, I tried to go back to sleep but the roosters started soon after.   I dozed for a bit, but we had a day trip planned today, so getting up early (about 6am) was probably a good idea. Today’s activity was the blue lagoon.   Was it the one from the movie?   I really doubt it.   My main concern was the drive out there – it was apparently further than the airport, and I really didn’t want to deal with the pothole ridden roads.   But deal we did, and actually the dirt road portion (which is the problem part) seemed much quicker!   We stopped off at a corner stor...

I didn’t sleep well last night.   The pillows were huge, but filled with goose down or something and compressed to about 2cm.   Bugs flew into my face and hair, and at about 445am the rooster started his business.   Managed to get an extra hour from 7-8am, but not ideal.   For Rory, this was the day of the pool.   I think she spent more hours in the water than out, and the resulting sunburn on face and legs showed.   For the rest of us it was a chill day, Rob and I went for a walk along the shoreline, and hopped in this incredible rock pool right against the ocean.   We were in and out the pool as well, disappointingly only one pina colada today though. We had lunch in a small pergola style area near the water – it was a “non-spicy” curry.   Still too spicy for me, but there were a bunch of summer rolls that I smashed.   Spilt my rum and coke on one of the dogs “Sid”.   He took it pretty well, just decided to move away.   I checke...
